About

Bio

Cameron Barnett is a bassist playing electric bass and double bass, based in Farnham and regularly gigging in London and across the South East.

He holds the bass chair in The Sassenachs Ceilidh Band, one of London's busiest ceilidh bands, playing weddings, Burns Nights and parties at venues from Big Penny Social to The Ned. He also owns and plays with London's Ruckus, a New Orleans second line brass band that has performed everywhere from street processions to the Old Vic's bicentenary celebrations (with a spot on ITV London to show for it).

A jazz player first and foremost, Cameron studied jazz double bass at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He plays upright in small groups around Surrey and London — recent outings include the 606 Club and a quartet programme celebrating the ECM label.
